Editorial- Walk the city walls at opening (9am, extended to 7pm May through mid-October) or in late afternoon; midday in summer means both peak heat and peak crowds on a route with almost no shade.

- Don't drag a wheeled suitcase through the Old Town at night; the city banned it in 2023 specifically to cut down on noise complaints, and it is enforced.
- A local bus ticket costs 1.73 euros bought at a kiosk (valid one hour, unlimited transfers) versus 2.50 euros bought on board for a single ride; a 24 hour pass is 5.31 euros if you're base-hopping to Lapad beach or the bus station.
