Share your experienceLa Pedrera, properly Casa Mila, charges from 29 euros for the essential general admission and from 25 euros for the sunset slot. The building is Gaudi's last civil work, a stone apartment block with no straight structural walls and a roof terrace of chimneys that look like helmeted sentries. The roof is the reason to go. The rest of the visit, an apartment furnished as it would have been in the 1910s and an attic of parabolic brick arches, is good, but the roof is what people remember. The sunset ticket is cheaper than the standard one, which is unusual, and puts you on that roof at the best hour of the day. If your schedule allows it, that is the ticket to buy.
What was great
The roof terrace is one of the great built spaces in Barcelona and the attic's brick arches explain how the building stands up. The sunset slot costs less than standard admission, which is a rare case of the better experience also being the cheaper one.
What nearly ruined the trip
From 29 euros is a lot for a single apartment building, especially if you are also paying for Sagrada Familia and Park Guell on the same trip. The route is one-way and the roof is small, so a full slot feels full. The Passeig de Gracia frontage is permanently crowded with people photographing it for free.
