  • Grand Palace admission is 500 THB and is open daily 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; anyone outside claiming it is closed for a ceremony or holiday is running a known scam that leads to a commission gem or tailor shop.
  • A BTS Skytrain single trip costs 17 to 65 THB depending on distance, and a One Day Pass for unlimited Green Line rides is 150 THB.
  • Say meter please before entering a Bangkok taxi and confirm the meter starts at 35 THB; refuse any flat fare offer, especially near the airport, lower Sukhumvit, or Silom.
  • As of May 19, 2026, visa exempt stays for US, UK, EU, Canadian, and Australian passport holders were cut from 60 to 30 days, and a Thailand Digital Arrival Card must be completed within 72 hours before arrival.
  • PM2.5 pollution peaks during the dry season from December through March, with readings in January 2026 hitting 79 to 108 micrograms per cubic meter in parts of the city, nearly triple the national safety threshold.
