Practical tips
Editorial- Buy Angkor tickets only from official Angkor Enterprise counters or the verified official online platform. The 2026 prices are 37 dollars for one day, 62 for three days and 72 for a week; anything sold elsewhere is a scam.
- Do not plan to arrive overland from Thailand. Land border crossings are closed after the fighting that escalated from early December 2025, and temporary restrictions have applied to e-visa holders entering from Thailand.
- Check your e-visa entry point. E-visas are valid at Siem Reap Angkor International Airport, Phnom Penh Techo International, Sihanoukville International, Bavet on the Vietnam border and Tropaeng Kreal on the Laos border.
- Pre-book your airport transfer. The new airport is about 50 kilometres east of Siem Reap, 45 to 60 minutes into town, and arrivals are the main hunting ground for drivers claiming a broken meter and charging over three times the legal fare.
- Use Grab or PassApp rather than unbranded vehicles or unofficial helpers, and agree the fare before you get in if you are using a tuk-tuk.
- Visit the temples between November and February if you can, and go in the morning regardless. March and April routinely hit 38 degrees and the exposed sandstone radiates heat all afternoon.
