Editorial- Sydney's Opal network charges a flat AUD 8.39 ferry fare regardless of distance, an AUD 9.06 maximum train fare if you fail to tap off, and adult daily caps of about AUD 19.30 Monday to Thursday and AUD 9.65 Friday to Sunday, with a AUD 50 weekly cap.
- Bondi Beach lifeguards patrol daily from 6am to 7pm during the October to April high season and 7am to 5.30pm from May to September; only swim between the red and yellow flags, which mark the zone lifeguards actively monitor for rip currents.
- Most US, Canadian, Japanese, and South Korean passport holders need an ETA (subclass 601) before flying to Sydney, costing AUD 20 through the official ETA app, valid 12 months with stays capped at 3 months per entry; most European and UK passport holders use the free eVisitor (subclass 651) instead.
