Share your experienceRoscioli charges a 20.00 euro deposit per person at booking, and works in fixed shifts: 12:30, 12:45, 14:30 and 14:45 for lunch, and 19:00, 21:30 and 21:45 for dinner. Those are the only slots that exist. It is a salumeria first, a wine bar second and a restaurant third, all in one narrow room lined floor to ceiling with cured meat, cheese and bottles. The carbonara is the dish people book for, and the burrata and the cured meats are the reason to come back. The rigidity is the price of a room this small being this popular. Book weeks ahead, take the shift you are given, and do not plan anything for the ninety minutes afterwards.
What was great
One of the great deli counters in Europe, doubling as the larder for the kitchen. Carbonara that deserves the reputation. A wine list far deeper than the room suggests.
What nearly ruined the trip
A 20 euro per person deposit and fixed shifts, which is a lot of commitment for lunch. Tight, loud and cramped. It books out weeks ahead, and the shift system means you eat quickly whether you want to or not.
