What it is
A large hands-on science centre on the Vistula embankment in central Warsaw, with several themed galleries, a high-voltage theatre, a robotics section and a separately ticketed planetarium.
Why travelers go
It is the strongest family attraction in Poland and among the best science centres in Europe, and the price is a fraction of what the equivalent costs in western capitals.
What is genuinely good
Around 450 exhibits that genuinely work, a memorable high-voltage show, long opening hours, a riverside roof garden, and honest weekday and weekend pricing.
Downsides and tourist traps
Noisy and crowded with school groups. Timed tickets sell out at weekends. The planetarium is an additional charge. Adults visiting alone are not the target audience.
Best for
Families with children between about six and fifteen, and anyone travelling with teenagers who need a day that is not another church.
Consider skipping if
You are in Warsaw for the history. The Rising Museum and the old town will serve you better.
Practical advice
Book a weekday slot online if you can, which is both cheaper and quieter. Allow three hours minimum. Decide about the planetarium before you arrive, because it is a separate ticket and separate timing.

Exhibition full price 48 zloty on weekdays and 50 zloty at weekends and holidays; reduced 34 and 36 zloty. Reduced rates cover pupils, students and PhD candidates under 26, seniors over 60 and people with a disability. Children under 2 enter free.
Getting there
Metro line 2 to Centrum Nauki Kopernik, which surfaces directly outside, or a twenty-minute walk from the old town along the river.
Where it sits
The Powisle riverside, below the escarpment that carries the old town, next to the university library roof garden and a short walk from the Vistula boulevards.
How long to allow
Three to four hours, longer with children who refuse to leave.
Accessibility
Step-free throughout with lifts to all galleries, and free entry for an assistant accompanying a person with a disability.
