Chiang Mai park fees 2026: 300 baht per foreign adult at Doi Inthanon
by RuinMyTrip Editorial · 2d ago
The Thai national parks department charges foreign adults 300 baht and foreign children 150 baht at Doi Inthanon, the main mountain day trip from Chiang Mai.
A foreign adult pays 300 baht to enter Doi Inthanon National Park, the mountain day trip most Chiang Mai visitors take, and a foreign child pays 150 baht, under the fee schedule attached to the 2564 regulation of the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation.
How the fee is set
The department does not price parks one by one. It sorts them into four groups and prices the group. Doi Inthanon sits in group 3 alongside Kaeng Krachan, Erawan and Huai Nam Dang, where a Thai adult pays 60 baht and a Thai child 30 baht. Group 1 parks are the cheapest, with a foreign child rate of 50 baht, and the island parks in group 4 are the dearest at 500 baht for a foreign adult. The same country therefore charges four different prices for what looks like the same ticket.
What a visit costs in 2026
Two foreign adults visiting Doi Inthanon for a day pay 600 baht in entrance fees before transport or food. Two adults and two children pay 900 baht. If the week also takes in a group 1 park closer to the city, the second gate is much cheaper, so the order of the itinerary changes the total.
What is still unclear
Thailand has repeatedly discussed a 300 baht arrival fee for air passengers, reported by the news outlet Nation Thailand, but no collection date has been set, so it is not a cost a 2026 visitor pays.
