Prague accommodation fee 2026: 50 CZK per person per night

Prague charges 50 Czech crowns per person per night in 2026. Prague 1, the district that administers the fee across much of the historic centre, gives the rate as 50 crowns "za kazdy zapocaty den, krome dne prijezdu", meaning for each started day of the stay except the day of arrival. In practice that works out at one charge per night slept.

Where it comes from

The district cites city ordinance number 19/2021 on the local fee from stay. It applies to a paid stay lasting at most 60 consecutive days with the same provider, so hotels, hostels, guest houses and short term rentals all collect it.

Who is exempt

The district lists people under 18, blind people, holders of a ZTP/P card, hospital patients, seasonal workers and students in educational facilities among those who do not pay.

What a stay costs

Two adults arriving on a Monday and leaving on the Friday are charged for four days each, so eight chargeable days at 50 CZK, which is 400 CZK on top of the room rate and its VAT. Whether Prague raises the rate later in 2026 is not stated on any city page we found.
