The Hoi An ancient town ticket costs 120,000 dong for an international visitor and 80,000 dong for a domestic visitor, the prices the Vietnamese government news portal quoted when the town began enforcing the ticket at every entrance to the protected area.

What the ticket is

This is not a city tax. It is an entrance ticket to the protected old town, and the announcement said the receipts go to conserving and restoring the monuments, along with cultural programming, tourism infrastructure, sanitation and security. The same announcement recorded the price as unchanged since 2012, which makes it one of the more stable numbers in Vietnamese tourism.

What a visit costs in 2026

Two international visitors pay 240,000 dong to walk into the old town and a group of four pays 480,000 dong. Set against a night in a Hoi An hotel the ticket is a modest line, but it is charged per person rather than per booking, so it grows with the group and it is separate from anything you spend inside.
