Giza Pyramids tickets 2026: 700 Egyptian pounds for foreign adults
by RuinMyTrip Editorial · 2d ago
The Giza plateau costs 700 Egyptian pounds for a foreign adult in 2026 and 350 for a foreign student, and that ticket does not include going inside any pyramid.
A foreign adult ticket for the Giza plateau costs 700 Egyptian pounds in 2026, according to the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities page for the site.
The four rates
The ministry lists 700 pounds for a foreign adult, 350 for a foreign student, 60 for an Egyptian adult and 30 for an Egyptian student. Vehicles are charged on top at the gate: 25 pounds for a car or taxi, 50 for a microbus, 75 for a coaster and 100 for a bus. The site is open 08:00 to 16:00.
What the 700 pounds does not include
This is where budgets break. The ministry states that the area ticket does not cover the Great Pyramid, the Pyramid of Khafre, the Pyramid of Menkaure, the tomb of Meresankh III or the workers cemetery. Going inside any of them is a separate ticket bought on top of plateau entry, so the real cost of the visit most people picture is higher than the headline number, and the interior tickets are limited in number each day.
Worked example
Two foreign adults arriving by taxi pay 1,400 pounds for entry plus 25 for the vehicle, so 1,425 before anyone goes inside anything. Two foreign adults plus two visitors on the student rate pay 2,100 for entry alone.
Still unclear: the ministry page names the monuments that need extra tickets but does not publish what those extra tickets cost.
