Westminster Abbey tickets 2026: 31 pounds for adults

Westminster Abbey charges 31 pounds for an adult ticket in 2026, according to the Abbey's own prices and entry times page. Visitors aged 65 and over pay 28 pounds and students pay 28 pounds. Children aged 6 to 17 pay 14 pounds and children aged 0 to 5 are free. The page also lists a family rate of one adult plus one child at 31 pounds.

The summer discount was temporary

For visits between 25 June and 1 September 2026 the Abbey published lower prices under a UK government campaign, showing 27.13 for adults, 24.50 for over 65s and students and 12.25 for children aged 6 to 17. The page states that savings apply to full price entry tickets only and that anyone who had already bought at the full rate for that window was eligible for a refund down to the discounted rate. Outside that window the prices revert to the 31 pound level.

Closures are the real risk

General admission runs roughly 9:30 in the morning to 3:30 in the afternoon, with hours that vary by date. More importantly, the Abbey warns that it is a working church and is sometimes subject to closure at short notice. A funeral, a service of thanksgiving or a state occasion can shut it on a day you have already booked, so timed tickets here carry more risk than at a museum.

What a couple pays

Two adults pay 62 pounds. Two adults and two children aged 6 to 17 pay 90 pounds. The same family inside the summer window paid 78.76 pounds, a saving of a little over 11 pounds.

The Abbey's page does not say whether the summer reduction will return in 2027, so treat 31 pounds as the standing adult price.
