A guided tour of the Teatro Colon costs 34,000 pesos for general visitors in 2026 and 17,000 for Argentine residents, with English tours only at four fixed times.
A guided tour of the Teatro Colon costs 34,000 pesos for general visitors in 2026, according to the theatre's own guided visits page.
Four prices, one tour
The theatre lists 34,000 pesos general, 17,000 for Argentine residents showing identification, and 7,000 for residents who are pensioners or university students. Children under 7 go free, as do visitors with a disability certificate and one companion. The tour runs 50 minutes with a maximum of 40 people, so slots do fill.
Language slots are the real constraint
Departures run every 15 minutes from 10:00 to 16:45 daily, but those are in Spanish. English tours leave at 11:00, 12:00, 13:00 and 15:00, and Portuguese at 11:45 and 16:00. From 1 July to 2 August the theatre extends hours to 9:30 until 17:15. Turning up without aiming at a slot in your language means either a long wait or the Spanish tour. The theatre takes cash and debit or credit cards in a single payment, and does not accept foreign currency, which catches out visitors carrying dollars.
Worked example
Two foreign visitors pay 68,000 pesos. A resident couple with identification pays 34,000, which is what one foreign visitor pays alone. A resident student and a resident pensioner together pay 14,000.
Still unclear: peso prices move quickly and the page does not date its price list, so the figure is worth checking again close to the visit.
