Kathmandu tourist visa fee 2026: 30 US dollars for 15 days, 50 for 30 days

A tourist visa for Nepal costs 30 US dollars for 15 days, 50 dollars for 30 days and 125 dollars for 90 days in 2026, and all three are multiple entry, according to the fee list published by the Nepal Tourism Board. Kathmandu itself publishes no nightly bed tax alongside it, so the visa is the fixed government charge most visitors meet first.

Who pays nothing

The tourism board lists gratis visas for children below 10 years except United States citizens, and for citizens of SAARC countries other than Afghanistan for up to 30 days on a first visit in a given visa year. Non Resident Nepali cardholders and Chinese nationals are also listed as free.

A worked example

Two adults trekking for three weeks each need the 30 day visa, so 100 dollars for the pair in 2026. Add a child of 8 on a non United States passport and the total does not move, because that child is gratis. A couple staying 12 days pays 60 dollars instead, by taking the 15 day visa rather than rounding up to 30 days.

What is still unclear

The board list gives the fee in dollars or equivalent convertible currency but does not say what payment methods the airport accepts in 2026, and it does not cover the separate trekking permits and national park fees charged outside the city.
