Dubai Tourism Dirham 2026: 20 dirhams per room per night in a five star hotel
by RuinMyTrip Editorial · 2d ago
Dubai charges the Tourism Dirham per room per night, from 7 dirhams in a budget hotel to 20 in a five star, capped at thirty consecutive nights.
Dubai charges a Tourism Dirham of 20 dirhams per room per night in a five star hotel, set out in Schedule 1 of Executive Council Resolution No. 2 of 2014 on the emirate legislation portal.
The full schedule
The same schedule sets 15 dirhams for a four star hotel, 10 dirhams for three star and two star hotels, and 7 dirhams for one star and budget hotels. Serviced apartments are priced separately at 20, 15 and 10 dirhams for luxury, deluxe and standard grades, guest houses at 7 dirhams, and holiday homes at 15 or 10 dirhams by grade. The fee is per room, not per guest, so two people sharing pay it once.
What a stay costs in 2026
Five nights in a five star hotel adds 100 dirhams to the room bill. The same five nights in a three star hotel adds 50 dirhams. Long stays are capped: the amending resolution says a guest is charged for a maximum of thirty consecutive nights, so two months in a five star hotel still stops at 600 dirhams.
What is still unclear
Dubai hotel bills often show municipality and service lines as well, and this resolution does not set those, so the Tourism Dirham is only one line of the final total.
