It is a timed National Park Service visit reached only with Alcatraz City Cruises, the only authorized ferry, from Pier 33. An adult day tour costs 47.95 dollars in 2026, according to the National Park Service, including the round-trip ferry and the audio tour. Night tours cost more and sell out first.
What is not included
The standard San Francisco CityPASS does not include Alcatraz, but a separate CityPASS plus Alcatraz ticket bundles the official day tour with three other attractions. Any other combo that mentions Alcatraz deserves a close read: check that it lands you on the island with Alcatraz City Cruises rather than sailing past it. Book the official product when your dates are firm, often weeks ahead in summer and October.
